Four hour trip - more info.
This tour starts at our Sled Dog Center and brings you further out east of town and we will go steep upwards “Akinnaq pukinneq” which is a steep hill. We will ride further on and make a short break at a view point wherefrom you can see the western part of the Kangia Icefiord. We will continue east on and we will reach Aallaniarfik, which is the nearest place to go down to the Ice Fiord. If the sea ice is safe enough we will make a short break for photografing, a cup of coffee and snacks on the Ice. From there we will turn around and go back the same way. The tour will last approximately 3 hours. Total length of tour 23 km. The tour will also give you a really good feeling of the power of the sled dogs and also gives you a feeling of what it means ridding a dogsled. But always remember weather can be harsh and will require warm clothing. We also strong recommend to wear some pack boots to keep your feet warm. Please notice that we consider dogsledding to be a form of extreme sport and before we start up, we will give you safety instructions and ask you to sign an “Exclusion of liability”.
