Overnight stay - more info.
This tour is the the most demanding of our tours and we will start from our Sled Dog Center on Sermermiut Aqq. and further out east of Ilulissat to the foot of the hills. We will go upwards “Akinnaq Portuneq” which is 350 m high. Thereafter we continue further on eastwards and after 3 – 4 hours we will reach the northern arm of the Ilulissat Icefiord – named Sikuiutsoq. Underway we will make short stop at a viewpoint and enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and have some lunch. When we arrive at our tent we will turn on the heater. Depending on the weather an at your wishes we could also ride further on and visit the fishinggrounds. Afterwards we will return to our tent. We will have a nice warm dinner and relax. If lucky we migth see the Northern Light also. You will sleep on a campingbed with Reindeer skin and with our down sleeping backs and double layer Tentipi Tent you will be warm and cosy.
Next morning you will have served breakfast and we will ride further up north as close to the Glacier Sermeq Avannarleq as snow/ice/ and weatherconditions allow us to.
We will have some lunch and then it’s time to set the course back home.
The tour will give you a really good feeling of the power of the sled dogs and also gives you a feeling of what it means riding a dogsled. But always remember weather can be harsh and will require warm clothing. We also strong recommend to wear some pack boots to keep your feet warm.
Please notice that we consider dogsledding to be a form of extreme sport and before we start up, we will give you safety instructions and ask you to sign an “Exclusion of liability”.
This tour requires that you are at a good health and therefore we kindly ask for allowence also to ask some personal questions regarding your helth.
